John C. Koss began his career as a jazz musician in the late 1940's. The band he fronted, John Koss and His 12 Piece Orchestra, were a staple in the Milwaukee jazz scene. In the early 50's, while serving in the Wisconsin Air National Guard, Mr. Koss played trumpet in the base's jazz band. In the early days of Koss Stereophones, much of the initial interest came from musicians. Koss' musical background was critical to the early and on-going success of Koss Stereophones, because he and his customers spoke a common language in music. Read more about Our Story.
