Koss recently sat down with singer/songwriter Grace Weber to talk about her new single "414" and celebrating her native city Milwaukee.
First off, how have you been since we last talked?
Amazing!! Wow time has flown by, I can't believe the last time I released new music new music was back in the fall! Life is good though, loving the journey.
Tell us about your new single “414”
Yess, "414" is about my hometown love for Milwaukee and how proud I am to be from this city.
It features fellow Milwaukee artist Mudy, and we just can't wait for the city to hear it and sing along with us!! We're championing the "414" with this one and we couldn't be more excited.
Why do you think Milwaukee Pride is so ubiquitous?
Because the city allows you to be your true authentic self and there really is something in this city for everyone.
From the incredible lake side to the music venues in the heart of the city, to the summer festivals and the breweries, this Milwaukee is a beautiful place to live and I couldn't be prouder to celebrate the city with "414".
Why does Milwaukee hold such a special place in your heart?
Honestly Milwaukee has given me so much as a musician and artist. From growing up singing in the Central City Youth Gospel choir to attending Pius XI High School where I had the most amazing music and art teachers, I am the artist I am today because I grew up in the 414. Plus, all my family lives here and it will just always be my one true home.
Favorite show you’ve played in the city?
Ooo probably the show I just played last fall at The Back Room at Colectivo!! Milwaukee was the first stop on my first headlining tour and we sold out the show - it was incredible to feel that love from Milwaukee.
Who are you listening to right now from Milwaukee?
Mudy and B-Free! I love both of their music and them as people and I'll be fangirling over their releases for life.
Where can someone just getting started as a musician/singer in a city like Milwaukee start?
Come to "Grace Weber's Music Lab"!!!! It's a free music program that I started and run with 88Nine Radio Milwaukee and it's open to all Milwaukee area high school students.
If you're not in high school you can listen to our podcast version coming soon! We have a special guest from the music industry come every month and we do workshops around different aspects of the Music Industry.
Where can people listen to “414?”
Streaming everywhere!! But you can help us out the most by calling in and requesting it at 88.9, 103.7KissFM, 89.3, and V100!!
Listen to Grace Weber on Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud & YouTube.
